Networking, we all know the word “networking” but not everyone may understand it and or have they mastered it.

Effective networking is a simple concept....

  • Effective networking requires a long-term commitment (2 years or more).
  • Must be consistent.
  • Involves GIVE and take.
  • Requires becoming a resource to others
  • Ask "What do you need?” not just "What do you do?"
  • Values equal quality over quantity.
  • Is NOT selling.

Networking is NOT Selling!

Networking is about building and nurturing contacts and business relationships, with the goal of gaining new business.  The truth is, real networking is a long-term project (2 years or more), not an event.

 

  • Meet like-minded professionals - those who are looking to share, as well as expand, their own personal network, over lunch! People who attend are willing to add the RIGHT people to their own circle of contacts and make referrals when appropriate. 
  • Meeting some of the same individuals at this or any event is not a negative. It’s not about collecting the most business cards it’s about building relationships and adding the right people to your circle of contacts. Each person you meet potentially knows 250 other people.  
  • So it’s not just that person you’re speaking with. It’s who does that person know. It goes without saying; you NEVER know who that person knows. So don’t necessarily write off someone because of where they work, or their position. Your next client or referral can come from the most unlikely person. 
  • Hopefully after the Power Networking Lunch, you will have found an important contact, as well as formed a business relationship with a knowledgeable professional that you can refer to your associates, family, and friends.

Our Power Networking Lunch is a structured networking event similar to "speed dating." After enjoying lunch with the participants, you will be assigned a number and then sent to network with others who have the same number. Everyone gets a minute to introduce their business with their group, then numbers are changed and you switch to a new group. This event you will definitely meet 30 or more people in about an hour. Have your elevator speech ready & bring plenty of business cards!

 

 

The lunch is $17 for pre-registered Chamber members, $22 at the door if not pre-registered, and $27 for all Guest.
