Job Description:
This position involves handling customer transactions, providing information about bank services, and maintaining the accuracy of financial records. Tellers typically process deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, answer customer inquiries, and promote bank products and services.
Core Responsibilities:
Processing Transactions: Handle cash deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other routine transactions
Customer Service: Assist with account management, respond to inquiries, and resolve customer concerns
Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, including daily balancing of the cash drawer
Promoting Bank Services: Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate bank products and services
Maintaining Security: Follow bank security protocols and report suspicious activity
Additional Duties May Include:
Issuing checks, money orders, and other forms of payment
Processing foreign currency exchanges
Assisting customers with bank cards, checks, and other materials
Answering customer inquiries by phone
Entering transactions into the bank’s system
Supporting branch events that occur from time to time
Skills and Qualities:
Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Deliver excellent customer service in every interaction
Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in transactions and record-keeping
Math Skills: Perform basic calculations and balance cash drawers
Computer Skills: Operate teller terminals and related software
Problem-Solving Skills: Resolve issues efficiently and professionally
Ideal candidates should also:
Be organized and dependable
Positively represent the bank in all interactions
Have prior teller or banking experience (preferred, but not required — we will train the right individual)
